~ Jennifer and Dustin’s Elegant Blush Gervasi Wedding ~

Upon meeting Jennifer and Dustin, we knew that they would be one of our favorite couples to photograph. They were so excited and enthusiastic about their wedding day, and the love and care that they showed one another was inspiring and poignant. It didn’t take this sweet couple long to realize how much they were alike and, after just a few dates, Dustin and Jennifer became best friends. For the proposal, Dustin devised a plan to surprise Jen on his birthday at a celebration surrounded by close friends. And because it was his birthday, Jennifer was not the slightest bit suspicious. So when Dustin stood to give a toast to his bride-to-be and got down on one knee, Jennifer was utterly shocked. Of course, Jen said yes and Dustin received his best and most memorable birthday gift – the rest of his life with the woman that he loved.

Once the day was set, they both began the fun task of planning their ideal wedding day. They chose Gervasi for their wedding ceremony and reception due to its beautiful grounds and architecture, and Jennifer imagined a soft pink and mauve palette with gold and glitter touches. Her favorite purchase was her first gown (yes! two gowns!). It was an ultra-romantic, straight out of a fairytale gown with a little added sparkle and sex-appeal. The dress was a sweetheart fit and flare style, in a deep blush color, and covered with beautiful and intricate beading and lace appliqués. Lots of bling from her shoes to her cushion-cut double halo engagement ring put the finishing touches on Jen’s look. And as a special surprise, Dustin sent over a heart-shaped box of pink lifetime roses while she was getting ready in the villa.

Although Jennifer was initially stressed about the weather, when the time came for a first look, she didn’t let the rain dampen her spirits and went forward with a first look by the lake. And for the ceremony, the Gervasi staff sprang into action and transformed the Ballaria Sophia ballroom into a dreamy and ethereal ceremony space. The intimate vows were short and sweet and followed by a reception, also in the Ballaria Sophia. Because this ballroom is so beautiful and elegant, it doesn’t need any additional embellishments. But the uplighting and added decor made this already stunning reception area simply spectacular! Lush tall centerpieces were filled with roses and hydrangeas and each guest received a glitter gold champagne bottle as a wedding favor (made by the bride and groom!). Soft candlelight and a pretty in pink dessert bar rounded out the beautiful scene.

Just before the first dance together, Jennifer slipped out to change into her second gown – a surprise for Dustin. It was an ivory lace dress with sheer illusion back, plunging neckline and crystal belt. When Jen arrived to join Dustin on the dance floor, he was wowed! And for the highlight of the night, they treated their guests to a fun choreographed number. The months and countless hours of rehearsing paid off and they nailed it! More dancing with this fun crowd and a trip to the villa for some romantic portraits ended out the night.
