Gervasi Vineyard Wedding

-Stephanie envisioned a charming and romantic wedding with a vintage, rustic ambiance. So, a natural choice was the Ballaria Sophia ballroom at Gervasi Vineyard with its old-world Tuscan decor. She enhanced her vision with lots of beautiful colors using guava, a deliciously warm pink (almost like a sweet raspberry sorbet) along with pops of coral, blush, and gold.

For her flowers, Stephanie chose brightly colored buttercup runiculi, old-fashioned roses and white hydrangea. Each centerpiece incorporated biblical verses and was handmade by the bride’s mother. Her mother also made the unique seating chart, using an antique distressed windowpane. The cake was a traditional 4-tiered cake with a cascade of flowers and multiple flavors to suit the guests’ desires. And for Michael, a physician, a cute groom’s cake was designed after the game Operation. In addition to the cakes, the groom’s mother, grandmothers, and aunts baked a wonderful assortment of homemade cookies – they were amazing!

Stephanie’s favorite purchase was her wedding gown. It was a vintage look Maggie Sottero lace sheath wedding dress with a halter neckline and a stunning, scalloped plunging back. She fell in love with it immediately and it was the only dress that made her tear up and feel like a bride. Her classic jewelry was gold with pearls and wrapped around her wrist she wore her grandmother’s pearl necklace (I so love this idea!). Later, she slipped into silk heels with a sweet message for Michael, “ I do!”.

Stephanie and Michael already have a relationship that stands the test of time. With their son, Lucas by their side, they proclaimed a lifetime of love with one another. You can really feel their joy in that kiss! After the ceremony, we had a chance to explore the willows along the lake and during the reception we took a quick trip to the South Vineyard. The South Vineyard with its gentle uphill slope is my favorite and Stephanie and Michael appear to be in the fields of Italy from some bygone days. Love, love, love!!
