Winter Gervasi Wedding

-Michelle lives in Florida but had always dreamed of having a winter wedding near the holidays. And when she and Ron traveled to Ohio and spent time at the beautiful Gervasi Vineyards, they were hooked. She knew that this gorgeous setting would be the perfect backdrop to her wedding day.

Because Michelle and Ron met more than seven years ago, their children have grown up spending a lot of time with one another. It is unusual to see such a happily blended family, and it was obvious that the children have learned to love and enjoy each other’s company over the years. (See the cute photo that they planned for their parents’ big day!)

Before Ron proposed to Michelle, he asked her son Cameron for permission to have her hand in marriage. Of course, Cameron agreed and on a trip to Alabama for Thanksgiving, Ron proposed in the house they rented on the mountain. It was a huge surprise and the entire family was elated to hear the news.

Cameron also played a big part in planning out the wedding. He made the final selection on his mother’s gown, a fitted Allure Couture gown with a softly billowing cathedral train and lots of bling. To go along with her gown, Michelle wore crystal multi-strap sandals and crystal jewelry. The entire ensemble was completed by a charming posy bouquet of red and white roses and a magnificent full-length fur coat.

The ceremony was very small and intimate with only the closest friends and family. It was a candlelit “ceremony in the round”, a smaller section of the Ballaria Sophia, and separated from the reception area with soft draping to give it a romantic and ethereal feel.

For the reception, Michelle pictured something classy and romantic with a lot of jazz playing and lots of candlelight. She worked in the casino industry and introduced Ron to gaming, so they included craps and blackjack tables as a surprise for their guests. Instead of a cake, the couple planned a dessert bar and gourmet coffee station. And in the true Christmas spirit, friends and family brought wrapped toys and gifts to donate to charity in lieu of wedding gifts.
