Hines Hill Wedding

-A sweet little bunny brought Rachel and Joe back together.  And because she initiated the rekindling of their relationship, she was included in many parts of their wedding day ; the cake topper, #loveyouBUNches and a quick trip to see Rabbie after the ceremony.  For the remainder of planning, Rachel and Joe chose a family-oriented and peaceful atmosphere with family and close friends. They wanted a reception outside to relax and enjoying those brief moments of “getaway” feelings you get just from escaping the daily chaos with simplicity and family.  The reception incorporated greenery, flowers, and lanterns with an intimate, semi-secluded environment, away from it all at Hines Hill.

The day began with Rachel and her bridesmaids getting ready at her family home. After trying on many wedding gowns, Rachel came back to the first dress.  She unexpectedly fell in love with a tulle, a-line, flowy and ballerina-like gown with a beaded bodice. She has been a dancer her whole life so this was a perfect fit.  It was ivory and timeless, with lots of sparkle on the top and an open back.  Her jewelry was a copper and rose gold, which perfectly complimented her stunningly beautiful strawberry-copper locks.  Rachel designed all of the flowers herself, creating the bouquets and centerpieces. She was a florist all throughout college and desired the arrangements to be rich, with mulberry tones, yet simply put together and showing some brightness with soft ivory accents.

Prior to taking their vows, Rachel and Joe exchanged emotional and touching letters.  With a little help, Joe was also able to surprise and delight Rachel with  a sentimental gift – a bicycle! Following the ceremony, we headed to Hines Hill where Rachel and Joe created most of their own decor/signs and had their hands in every element of the design. Because they like to be personal and involved in their decisions together, everything at the wedding was hand picked by the couple. They designed all the signs, seating chart, guestbook, favors and all the details for the reception.  In addition, they incorporated lanterns to create some ambience and warmth for the romantic evening they envisioned.

This fun and quirky couple loves to bond with those close to them, so Rachel choreographed a flashmob performance by the wedding party after the father-daughter/mother-son dance. Later in the evening, Rachel snuck out of the reception to change into her mother’s redesigned wedding gown and thrilled her mom on the dance floor.  The night concluded with a bonfire and s’mores, topped off by a sparkler send-off.  The reception was just as Rachel and Joe envisioned, where the two could dance the night away under the stars, in the peace and quiet, laughing and smiling with the people they love.
