In a sea of wedding photographers how do you choose the right one? We have some helpful hints to make your decision making easier!

Style

Traditional, photojournalistic, or portraiture? What are you drawn to when you see others wedding images? Do you like more highly posed images or a more natural look? Do you like photos with nature light or high key lighting?

You will be able to see the photographer’s style by looking at examples of their images but it is also important to talk about your likes and dislikes when it comes to style. If there is something specific you are looking for we will work with you to achieve it.

Reviews, Interview, Personality

Get to know the photographer you’re looking to hire. Read reviews online to see what other brides have to say. WeddingWire is a great place to start! Check out our WeddingWire page: David Corey Photography on WeddingWire!

It is so important that you meet in person (or if you are out of town, over skype). You want to make sure you feel comfortable and trust who you are hiring. You will be spending a lot of time together!

Full weddings, Albums, Prints

The more work you can see from a photographer the better! Ask to view full weddings to get an idea of what you will have after your wedding day is over and your images are delivered. You can view our full weddings here: http://davidcoreyphotography.smugmug.com/Weddings

Also when you meet with the photographer make sure to see a few wedding albums. Take note of what you like about the albums and images. When at the photographers studio take a look at the photos they have hanging on their walls. Most photographers will be trying to showcase their best work or samples of products they can offer you.

You can view one of our albums we recently delivered to Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens: Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens wedding album.

Expectations

Be upfront and honest with what you are looking for. Ask yourself what your expectations are and communicate them. It’s best to share all of your details up front so nothing gets missed.

Pre and pro production

At David Corey Photography we stay in contact with you from the moment you sign the contract until you receive your final products. We want to know every detail about your wedding: who will be there, what are your special details, who are all your vendors, did anyone make anything special, are there any special shots you many want? We send you a questionnaire with these questions and more, a month before your wedding. You can call anytime with questions about your wedding day photography.

On your wedding day my second shooter/assistant and myself will be with you every step of the way. After the wedding you will see a sneak peek posted via social media and within two weeks you will receive your images. From that point depending on your package or if you would like to order we will start working on your prints and album. We will be in contact with you to gather your top images for your album and help you choose your album cover and book size. We have many examples you can view in our studio if needed. After you choose your images and album we will build your album and send you a proof. After we receive your changes we will go through the process once more before ordering your approved album.

Alright, are you ready to get started?

Give us a call (or email) and set up a free wedding consultation. We would love to talk to you about your wedding day! We have many albums to share with you and a packet full of more information you can take home with you.
